Why Give to Missionaries
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and thieves break in and steal. Bust store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6: 19-21 NIV
God is showing his love all over the world. Through giving, we can be a part of what He is doing beyond our own hometowns. Treasures in Heaven uses invested giving to extend our contributions into eternity.
Giving to Missions is the Right Thing to Do
Mission work is a partnership between God, those that go, and those that give.Givers play a vital role in work of the missionary. They:
- Validate God's call and the purpose of the trip
- Pray for and encourage the missionary
- Hold the missionary accountable to their purpose
- Help meet the financial needs of the missionary and the mission
- Help the missionary re-enter his native culture after the trip
After we Christians have satisfied our commitment to our local church, it is important that we give directly to the people in our lives whom God has called to do mission work, so that we can share in the global mission of Jesus.
Invested Giving - the Smart Way to Give
The Bible teaches that individuals should be wise with what God has entrusted to us. Should we not also be wise when we give back to Him?
Invested giving takes tax deductible donations and invests them wisely before giving to other charitable organizations.
